About our physician- MANISH ARORA
After years of hard work and strenuous studying at Johns Hopkins University Sinai Hospital for Internal Medicine Residency and University of Maryland/National Institute of Health for fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology , I began practicing as a professional Gastroenterologist in 2011. My extensive medical knowledge combined with an ongoing curiosity to learn about the latest trends define my success in the medical field. I am always intrigued with solving medical mysteries and I had an honor to be a part of the Discovery Health TV show on diseases detectives during my training at National Institute of Health.

How to prepare for your upcoming Colonoscopy
I am sure that you are probably nervous about colonoscopy. The main objective is to detect and remove precancerous polyps. This procedure is vital to achieving our goal of colon cancer screening and prevention. We will discuss the procedure and preparation in great detail during your office visit. From the patient’s perspective, the main goal is to follow the colonoscopy preparation instructions including clear liquid diet and finishing the bowel preparation as directed. You will be given moderate sedation during the procedure and you will need a driver to drive you home. Your doctor will take pictures and will share your findings after you wake up.
